Restorative Justice New Mexico

Community Council

In Summer 2005, a year after restorative justice was introduced in Grant County through the Restorative Justice Program, community members interested in advancing restorative justice began to meet. They began to call themselves a council, open to anyone who had an interest in advancing restorative justice. The Council provided a forum for discussion and direction, and in the Summer of 2006, it created the Restorative Justice Community Center and chose the Center's first Board of Directors. The Council since worked with the Board to organize a community forum on restorative justice and complement the Board with a diversity that reflects the community that RJCC serves.

The next Council meeting has not yet been scheduled.
