Task Force Recommends Restorative Justice

New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson's Task Force on Prison Reform, in its report released on June 24, 2008, made significant consideration to and recommended implementation and expansion of restorative justice in the New Mexico Rehabilitation and Corrections Department. The report emphasizes expansion of programs and initiatives to provide for successful reentry of offenders into the community. RJNM is developing a restorative reentry program where offenders released from prison meet with affected victims, their families and support, and neighbors and communities.
